Sweating Excessively

General Add comments

Sweating excessively is more widespread than some folk may think. Excessive sweating routinely takes place on the palms, armpits and soles of the feet. This can happen at any any particular time of the day and can be an emotional and distressing time.

Usually, our sweat is a method for our body to cool down because as the sweat evaporates from the body it removes heat with it thus making us feel cooler. Sweating excessively is also described as Hyperhidrosis, and can appear even when you are not overheated.

Hyperhidrosis can come in two forms, Focal and Generalised. Focal excessive sweating means the sweating is normally found in a precise area of the body such as the palms. Generalised excessive sweating means the sweating happensall over the body and is not as common. Generalised sweating in the main occurs at night while asleepand is sometimes the result of a medical condition.

If one is suffering from sweating nights and often find yourself waking up with a soaked bed and shivering it is necessary to note there could well be a plethora of causes for these episodes. Abrupt night sweats in men can be a symptom of a cancer such as Lymphomas. If you are suffering from sweating nights you should make an appointment with your doctor for a medical check to rule out any dangerous causes especially if the sweating started abruptly.

Night sweats in females and males are very imoportant to be checked overas quickly as possible. Focal excessive sweating is on the whole quite harmless and easily treatable although, Generalised Hyperhidrosis (or Night Sweats) can be an indication that there is something seriously wrong with your health and should be looked into immediately. Your medical proffessional will need to know your detailed medical history and carry out some tests to determine the reason you are sweating excessively.
